BINTO: What's the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
I usually start a tea to wake me up and prime my digestive system. I like ginger tea with fresh ginger root, or apple cider vinegar and water to help the gut.
BINTO: What are your favorite healthy foods?
My favorite healthy foods are greens. I love the whole family of cruciferous veggies—broccoli, kale, cauliflower. I also love olive oil, nut butters, and fresh, homemade yogurt.
BINTO: What workouts do you enjoy?
I am hands-down a yoga, pilates and spinning girl, but am trying to get back into weights to avoid bone loss and keep my muscle mass.
BINTO: What was the defining moment when you realized you could take your health into your own hands?
When I understood the connection between food and health, and saw how simple tweaks in my diet changed my energy and my skin and hair.
BINTO: How has your wellness routine evolved over the years?
Routine massages and yoga are more consistently part of my routine along with acupuncture. I continue to make better food choices every day, and mindfulness and meditation are taking on a bigger role than they have in the past.
BINTO: What other product can’t you live without?
I love Lush Locks from my EastWest brand, and taking omega 3 fats. I can't live without them and see the effects of not taking them very quickly.
BINTO: What is your biggest challenge in terms of health or wellness right now?
I think managing stress is the biggest. I get better every year, but it's still a challenge.
BINTO: How do YOU define wellness?
Wellness for me is feeling powerful and on top of my game in all aspects of my health—mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. I'm happy when my energy is present, my clothes fit the way I want them to, my skin and hair are cooperating, my mind is sharp—that is my definition of wellness.
