Tell us a bit about your daily wellness routine?
In an ideal world, I'd get to a workout class (preferably Unite Fitness or a BodyCombat class) sometime before my 8am 'workday' kicking off. I'm still working from home so most breakfasts include an egg scramble with a half buttered bagel, and that's when I take my Binto packet of prenatal vitamins and supplements! The workday typically is peppered with 1-2 walks with my dog, and after I close my computer for the day, we'll take a lot longer stroll to the park (if I'm lucky, with my husband! Our offices are on different floors and our calendars are wildly different, so it's great to catch up). We've been making dinners almost every night, and I close things out with a glass of Glow Down and maybe a tv show or some pregnancy books. I can't stay up too late these days!
What product can’t you live without?
The Glow Down has been a LIFESAVER lately. The chaos of the holidays, the stress of a new year and a whole lot of work coupled with all the standard pregnancy anxiety spirals - it's an amazing way to turn it OFF for the night.
What was the defining moment when you realized you could take your health into your own hands?
After college and working my first job for a few months, I'd put on a TON of weight and adopted a really sedentary lifestyle. When I broke my foot that same year, I realized that I needed to be proactive in my health journey. I started simply with a few more walks during the day, eventually trying Weight Watchers to be more mindful about my diet. My biggest change? Joining a gym! Suddenly, I had a whole community outside of just my party-loving college friends, and I felt like I could do anything!
Have you seen your wellness routine evolve over the years?
100%! The first 2 years after college were all about weight loss for me - I wasn't too focused on much else. These days (over a decade later!) I realize that "wellness" is so much more than just food in, exercise output. My social life, what TYPES of food I put in my body, my supplements, the sleep I get... they all play a huge factor. And now that I'm growing a little baby, I'm even more mindful of my rest and movement (and recognize it doesn't ALL have to be cardio!!)
Do you use BINTO? How do you stick to your routine?
Yes! I started using Binto a little over a year ago, first as just daily multi vitamins and supplements and, about 4 months ago, switching to prenatal pack when I got pregnant! I also take the Bloat-Aid when I know I'll be feasting (the holidays were a great use case!) and Glow Down for turning it OFF for the night. As someone prone to overthinking, it's felt more necessary than ever. And I keep my vitamin packs in a pretty little fishbowl right by my desk (plus a few in my purse so that if/when I'm away from my office, I have what I need!)
Favorite supplement in your Binto pack-Go!
Probably the probiotic - feels like it kicks off my morning digestion the right way, and regulates my gut better than anything else I've tried!
How do you take your wellness routine on the go?
Well, I'm lucky enough that my family got a Peloton at the shore house (really the only regular "vacation" I took in the past few years!) but I also love to pack a few days worth of Binto in my purse on the off chance that I'm out making moves. Pandemic & pregnant version of 'on the go' life is a lot different than pre-pregnancy, pre-pandemic!
Do you feel like there is something you’re still searching for in your wellness journey?
I'll admit - I definitely have lost my 'mojo' when it comes to working out at home or virtually (probably because I was so thrilled to get back into classes and studios post-vaccine!) So one goal? Find a prenatal workout that I like for those days when I can't go to the gym for whatever reason. Luckily, the online community is incredibly supportive for this and I have a lot of great recommendations.
What is your Be Vitamin for 2022?
This year, I want to BE Organized! I've got a lot on my plate and I know a failure to plan is a plan for failure.
