When your period comes, so does the pain. About 80% of women experience cramps from their period. Here’s 7 ways to relieve that monthly pain from menstrual cramps.

Bring on the Heat

Apply heat to the area where you are feeling pain. The heat will relax uterine muscles and increase blood flow. Invest in a heating pad for those times when the pain is too much. Don’t want to spend any money?  Take a hot bath for pain relief.

 

Get Active

Sometimes working out can seem impossible while you have cramps. But if you stick to a consistent workout routine your cramps could lessen.  No need to do a heavy workout while on your period. Getting a little bit of exercise will increase your blood flow. Try going on a run or taking a yoga class. Find a workout routine that works best for you.

 

Cut the Caffeine

Can’t get through the day without your cup of coffee or energy drink? Try to lay off the caffeine during your period. Caffeine constricts blood flow and tightens the uterus. This can lead to cramping. Try to drink tea or protein shakes to start your morning instead. Additionally, make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
