6ABC Features Story of a Nurse Who Helps Women Struggling With Infertility Through Binto

In light of National Infertility Awareness Week, April 24-30, 2022, 6ABC talked to nurse Suzie and her patients and the clients of Binto. Nurse Suzie Devine revealed her first encounter with infertility when she traveled to Africa at a younger age.

From that experience, she was stirred to grow into a women’s health nurse. And this landed her at Penn Fertility Care. She didn’t know this would become the significant story of her life. Today, Infertility affects one in eight couples, and for many, navigating having a child is overwhelming.

Suzie struggled to have a child. She was finally able to start a family using IVF. But she had undergone several miscarriages before being successful with IVF. And now, she finds purpose in  helping mothers-to-be find their path to pregnancy through Binto.

For many women, getting pregnant is easy. But for some, the motherhood journey is not always one of celebration and joy. Read on to find out more about infertility, what you can do to overcome and how Binto is here to help.

Importance of Talking About Infertility

An essential element of Nurse Suzie Devine’s story is talking about infertility. During the interview, two of her clients/supporters, Trubin-Barker and McKenna Young, also spoke about their experiences.

Young, who struggled for three years before having her first child through IVF, revealed that she was more comfortable talking about her experience when she got pregnant with the second child—now 18 weeks in. It was clear that the more she spoke about infertility, the more she found out she wasn’t alone.

While the topic of infertility can often be a taboo one, more and more people are sharing their stories to support raising awareness about the struggles that come with it. Talking about infertility helps.

Below are some reasons why it’s essential to talk about infertility:

  • Talking helps you feel less alone. If you’re going through infertility, you’re not the only one in your circle of friends struggling with this issue. Talking openly about infertility can help you realize that other people may be dealing with similar problems, too — and they may have some advice on how to cope with them.
  • Besides, it helps others understand what you’re going through. It makes it easier for friends and family members to want to help when they see someone they love suffering from infertility. But sometimes, they don’t know how best to do that because they don’t fully understand what their loved one is going through. If you’re willing to share your story with others, it can go a long way in helping them learn more about what it means to be infertile and how they can best support their loved ones struggling with the condition.
  • It helps others better understand why certain situations might make you feel uncomfortable or upset. For example, Your mother-in-law suggests having another baby.

Infertility can be a complex topic to talk about. It’s personal and often associated with feelings of shame, embarrassment, or fear. But talking about infertility can be an essential step toward overcoming the condition.

What You Can Do to Overcome

Infertility is a challenging situation to handle. During the ABC interview, Trubin-Barker revealed her pain of losing children through miscarriages despite having kids now. So, you may worry that people will judge you and think less of you because of your infertility. But many people have gone through this experience and come out stronger on the other side. You’ll gain support from them when they know what it means to you.

If you’re struggling with infertility, here are some things you can do:

Talk About It

Talking about infertility can be difficult for many people, but it is vital to do so. You may be able to find support from friends and family members, or you may gain from speaking to someone who has been through similar experiences. If you’re single and unsure where to turn, online forums and chat rooms can be good places to start looking for help.

Take Care of Yourself

You may need to take time out of your busy schedule to look after yourself properly. Take excellent care of yourself physically by eating healthily and exercising regularly—practice relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation when you feel stressed or anxious. If possible, try taking up some new hobbies that will help you forget about your infertility for a while – doing something creative can be beneficial at times like these!

Visit a Counselor

If you’re feeling low or struggling with emotions such as guilt or anger, speak to your doctor about how best to cope with them before they become overwhelming. Your GP can refer you for counseling if necessary (some NHS areas offer free counseling sessions) or prescribe medication if you subscribe to them.

Use Supplements to Boost Your Fertility

Investing in supplements is a great way to restore body functions. For instance, the sex hormones of the body like estrogen and progesterone might go out of control, which is called hormonal imbalance. While doctors can do so much to help, supplements are a great answer. Infertility can be best handled by taking vitamins or supplements. So, Suzie has a solution to some of these problems through her program called Binto.

What is Binto?

For Philadelphia nurse Suzie, the journey to motherhood was a long road. Today, she helps other women start their own families through her work—Binto. It involves supplements that help people get pregnant and stay healthy through pregnancy. It is an opportunity to use her experience as a patient to help others navigate the same challenges she faced.

Binto is helping to make it easier for people across the country to start their families by providing personalized support services and product recommendations tailored specifically to each individual’s circumstances—something that Suzie feels is essential in helping others.

Moreover, the idea behind Binto is to help women access preventative care in their reproductive journey. Binto offers women a chance to access over-the-counter products plus healthcare professionals at an affordable price. The company also provides subscription boxes filled with vitamins and supplements.

Binto made it easy for Trubin-Barker and Mckenna Young to start a family, and now they work at Binto helping other women too!

Everybody is different, and we know how confusing it can be to navigate your health on your own. Binto helps women as they go through the cycles of their life. Wellness, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause.

Conclusion

Infertility is nothing to laugh about. When all your friends enjoy the joys of motherhood, and you’re not, it gets to you. It is possible to overthink all sorts of causes without success. But with or without understanding what’s making you delay in having children, there’s a solution for you. Suzie went through a rough patch getting kids until she resolved to start something that would help women in her situation. The company helps women find the right treatments for them. Often she offers a free consultation with a doctor who specializes in the individual’s needs.
