Natural Remedies for Relief from Hot Flashes

Hot flashes: more than 75% of perimenopausal women will experience them (1). They range anywhere from uncomfortable to downright miserable- causing a flushed face, sweating, and even a rapid heart rate or chills in some women. Studies claim most women experience these symptoms anywhere from 6 months up to 5 years from the onset of perimenopause (1). Hot flashes can occur from stress, hormonal fluctuations, and inflammation throughout the body.

Why they’re beneficial:

  • Avoid processed foods- even packaged seafood or canned beans can have added nitrates and nitrites as a preservative
  • Because soil can be rich in nitrates from fertilization methods, researchers claim fruits and vegetables furthest from the ground are best.
